Princess Crown and Dress Cookies

These cookies went along with the castle cake I made for my daughter. I wanted them to be blue for cinderella, but I wanted them to be much simpler. I loved the sweet accents on these dresses and the belt made them complete. I made these a week later and added a belt to the dresses with the dots and wished I would have done it to these also.

Those are cute. I especially love the princess dresses with the lines at the bottom.

Hi!All of these cookies are fantastic! I was wondering how you decorate them though? The edges are so perfect. Do you use a stiffer icing to out line and then flood with a more liquidy icing? What are your methods and what is your recipe if you dont mind sharing! please email me? sugarlipscakes@gmail.com

Thanks!!

I came across your blog and all your cookies are adorable! I'm just starting out with cookie-making and having fun learning and experimenting.
I'm curious about your icing too. I have a nice glaze recipe but if too thin it runs off the sides, and too thick it's hard to spread. I haven't tried royal icing yet. Wondering if you outline with a thicker icing, and fill in with a thinner one?
Keep up the nice work!

My icing is a combination of royal and glaze. I use 1 tbsp. of Meringue Powder and 2 Tbsp. of Corn Syrup. Mix for at least 5 minutes to allow the meringue to give the icing body and fluffy enough to hold it's shape. Good Luck! Is should look like elmer's glue when you test with a spoon.
